About Me

Mana Akihara

Profile

I have worked at OKIDO Weaving Factory since 2013, for a total of 12 years.

With the deep commitment and passion of a craftsman, I strive to create fabrics with rich texture. Rather than just weaving like a traditinonal textile factory, I handle every process involved in fabric productinon, including sales, design, fabric processing and loom maintenance and any more.

When creating designs, I have used SDS-ONE APEX (SHIMA SEIKI’s design system). I understand the structure of looms, so when transforming two-dimensional designs into three-dimensional woven fabrics, I strive to create unique, one-of-a-kind textiles by combining various weaving structures.

I can operate looms such as TSUDAKOMA, SOMET, and ITEMA.

Moreover, I can operate a twisting machine. This allows me to create original threads and weave fabrics using them when proposing new textiles. I have made melange threads, loop yarns, and bouclé yarns in the past.

I am responsible for creating fabrics that meet client requirements and always do my best.

I have many repeat clients from Japanese brands.
