I create various fabrics at OKIDO WEAVING FACTORY.
OKIDO WEAVING FACTORY is a traditional Japanese textile company.
Although it is a family-owned factory, we can create many different fabrics here.
In Japan, family-owned weaving factories are called ‘HATAYA,’ and they have sustained traditional Japanese weaving for generations. I cherish the spirit that has been passed down over time, which is why I love the word ‘HATAYA‘ I want to honor this tradition by continuing to create with dedication and craftsmanship.
MY CREATION
I make the most of materials to create fabrics with three-dimensional, soft, and playful textures. As a result, they inspire those who hold them in their hands. I also create fabrics that other companies are unwilling to make.

About THE FACTORY
We can create a wide variety of fabrics! Although it is a family-owned textile company, we have various loom machines, yarn twisting machines, a weaving design system, and even a finishing machine. This allows us to handle all fabric production processes consistently within our factory!
Sustainability Initiatives
Our factory is committed to sustainability. When weaving fabric, a fluffy, thread-like byproduct is naturally produced at both ends due to the structure of the loom. Typically, textile factories discard this material. However, instead of throwing it away, we explore innovative ways to repurpose it!
EXHIBITION
We hold solo exhibitions in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and other cities on an irregular basis. At these exhibitions, we showcase our latest fabrics and hold business meetings with clients.
During these meetings, we review our fabrics together and discuss the materials they are looking for. Since we can produce a wide range of fabrics, clients often request new fabrics that we don’t have samples of. By listening to their genuine feedback, we continuously evolve and improve our factory.
